HR Seminar by Dr. Leslie Szamosi in Sofia

At times of crisis when the majority of companies focus on downsizing, investing in talent management becomes even more important for businesses’ performance and success. This was the topic discussed by Dr. Leslie Szamosi, Academic Director of the Executive MBA programme, in the HR seminar he delivered in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event took place on 11th of June at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski.

Entitled “Supporting Talent during Times of Change” the seminar presented the hot issue faced currently in companies and organisations where employees leave their jobs in their own free will, move to other countries seeking better job opportunities or even to competitors, while at the same time businesses struggle to survive and remain competitive. Dr Szamosi highlighted how important it is to map out and adopt an HR strategy focusing on talent retention and creation of a supportive environment explaining how losing a talented worker is actually more costly than trying to support him. Dr. Szamosi also presented ways in which organisations can support their employees.

The seminar took place in the University of Sheffield programmes delivered in Sofia by the University’s International Faculty, CITY College.
