Mr Kostas Politis

Congratulations to our alumnus, Mr. Kostas Politis whose research paper entitled ‘An investigation of social entrepreneurial intentions formation among South-East European postgraduate students’ was published in the high ranking Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development of Emerald Insight.

The purpose of the paper is to investigate social entrepreneurial intentions formation among South-East European postgraduate students. The paper’s co-authors are Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, Vice Principal of the International Faculty, Dr. Anastasios D. Diamantidis, and Dr. Lambros Lazuras.

Mr Politis commented: "Through the experience of publication, I - with the assistance of my supervisors -managed some achievements worth mentioning. Firstly, I succeeded in developing a degree of commitment that has a scope beyond the narrower limits of an assignment and extends to a professional collaboration. Secondly, I felt that my thesis determination and zeal helped me develop an expertise in the social entrepreneurial field which continues to positively influence everyday decisions in my social enterprise. I perceive the publication as the fruit of that initial enthusiasm that never faded away because it constitutes a part of ones’ life vision. Thirdly, I realised the importance of the educational environment – expressing my gratitude to the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, CITY College - as an enabling factor in students’ excelling efforts. Finally, I would like to convey a message to the students which I believe should never be neglected: "Every short of obligation (i.e. essays, presentations, thesis etc) in the educational context and process, carries the potential of students’ personality advancement".

Mr. Politis completed the MSc in Management with merit at the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College in 2014.
