On 2 November 2017 the Executive MBA Induction took place successfully for our new MBA students in Sofia with the British Ambassador in Bulgaria also honouring the event with her presence.
Dr Leslie Szamosi opened the academic year, welcomed all our new MBA students and carried out the Induction providing useful information to better prepare students for their studies ahead.
MBA students were also welcomed by the British Ambassador in Bulgaria, H.E. Emma Hopkins. In her short speech she told students that this journey that they decided to take in the following years is very important and congratulated them on having the courage to decide to attend such a challenging programme. She said that British Education is one of the biggest exports of the UK and that by becoming Sheffield graduates, they become ambassadors of British Education. She also advised them to feel proud, as British universities are traditionally in the top charts and The University of Sheffield is one of them. Ms. Hopkins also mentioned that she would love to host a second Sheffield Alumni reunion reception at her residence like the previous British Ambassador did for our students some years ago.
Sofia is one of the seven destinations for our Executive MBA programme. Many Bulgarian executives have been admitted to the program in the past, who are now part of the strong Sheffield alumni community.
