CITY College, University of York Europe Campus and Tourism Observatory sign a Cooperation Agreement

CITY College, University of York Europe Campus signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Tourism Observatory, a Silver-Award winner (Tourism Awards 2021) service that captures the demand (requests) and the valid direct reservations in hotels and accommodation providers and vacation rentals in specific geographical areas of Greece. It is founded by the following leading companies in the sector: Nea Mesa Tourism Marketing & Sales, ΒοοkOnlineNow, Hotel Availabilities, Syncbnb, The Data Appeal Company, OTA insight.

The scope of cooperation under this Agreement includes the analysis, management and presentation of data, collected by the Observatory, by BAED undergraduate students in order to produce factsheets and monthly reports on trends and help the further development of key features of the platform, as well as the enhancement of its visibility and communication of its purpose to the general public.

The reports created will be publicly available, thus useful information will be accessible to the public. Students will be working systematically with the team of Tourism Observatory and will be supervised by Dr. Lemonia (Lenia) Papadopoulou-Kelidou and Dr Giovanni Oscar Serafini of the Business Administration & Economics Department.

The cooperation with the Tourism Observatory is aligned with CITY College’s philosophy to promote the collaboration between academia and industry and its public engagement efforts to give back to and remain actively engaged with the society.
