Dr. Megari discussed the topic 'Domestic violence and mental health: Data from the international and Greek area' referring first to the different forms of violence, pointing out how important it is to recognise it: “"Domestic violence is any kind of physical, sexual or psychological violent behaviour towards the victim." During her presentation she highlighted that according to the Council of Europe, domestic violence is the main cause of death and disability for women aged 16-44 and causes more deaths than cancer, traffic accidents and war, while she did not fail to mention that children are also victims of violence against women as they usually are exposed to domestic violence.
