CITY College Europe Campus hosts Spring School for Ukrainian university staff and students

CITY College had the pleasure to host Ukrainian students and staff from KKNU for a second time this academic year. The project was funded by the University of York.

Our spring school had an educational and cultural character, with academic classes and visits to archaeological sites in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece.

CITY College, University of York Europe Campus had the pleasure of hosting for a second time this academic year a group of Ukrainian staff and students from the Karazin Kharkiv National University (KKNU) who attended a Spring School 3-11 April 2023 at our main campus in Thessaloniki.
Our spring school had an educational and cultural character, with academic classes and visits to archaeological sites in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece. KKNU staff and students had the opportunity to enjoy a week in Thessaloniki gaining knowledge, skills and amazing experiences. In addition to classes, the programme included walks in the city of Thessaloniki, visits to churches and monuments, and to the Archaeological Museum, Archaeological Site of Vergina, and the Archaeological Site of Philippi. The week also included various social activities and outings.
The week concluded with the celebration of the successful completion of the Spring School with students and staff from the Kharkiv National University of Ukraine and CITY College.
We would like to thank our staff members, namely Prof. Petros Kefalas, Dr Zoi Tatsioka, Ms Anna Sotiriadou, Dr Filio Chasioti and Dr Konstantinos Dimopoulos for their invaluable contribution to the Spring School and to our Humanities Department for organising the academic part of the school.
The Spring School was truly an unforgettable experience for the participants and CITY College Europe Campus students and staff. This project was funded by the University of York (UK) and was organised and supported by CITY College, University of York Europe Campus.
