CITY College, University of York Europe Campus had the pleasure of hosting for a fourth time a group of talented Ukrainian students and staff from the Karazin Kharkiv National University (KKNU) who attended a Summer School at our main campus in Thessaloniki, 21-29 June 2024.
The summer school combined academic rigor with cultural immersion, featuring a range of classes and site visits across Thessaloniki and Northern Greece. The KKNU staff and students enjoyed a week of knowledge acquisition, skill development, and unforgettable experiences. The programme’s educational and cultural character was evident, as it incorporated not only lectures but also guided city walks, visits to iconic landmarks like the White Tower of Thessaloniki, and day trips to Northern Greece. The week also included various social activities and outings.
We would like to thank our staff members, namely Dr Kalliopi Megari and Dr Maria Matiaki from our Psychology Department for their invaluable contribution to the Summer School. The project was generously funded by the University of York (UK) and was organised and supported by CITY College, University of York Europe Campus.
The Summer School was a truly unforgettable experience for Ukrainian students as well as our staff that further strengthened our bonds of friendship!
