The Neuroscience Lab is among the few labs in Northern Greece and has been created to enhance our Research and Clinical practice in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience. It aims at supporting brain training in real-time.
The Neuroscience Lab includes state-of-the-art equipment to measure physiological responses (such as heart rate, skin conductance etc.) and to use for "brain training" in clinical and healthy populations. Both our undergraduate and postgraduate students are exposed to this equipment as part of their studies. Moreover, students enrolled in our new master programmes in Cognitive and Clinical Neuropsychology will be formally trained to use the equipment for research and/or clinical purposes. We are proud to have this brand new lab in our department with certified and trained staff to support this development.
Neuroscience Research Centre (NEUREC)
NEUREC is an interdisciplinary hub of CITY College, a centre dedicated to Neuroscience research.
The Applied Neuroscience Lab is part of the Neuroscience Research Centre (NEUREC) of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Applied Neuroscience Lab is equipped with state-of-the art technology and can be access by staff and students at CITY College who wants to conducted basic research and applied studies in neuroscience-related fields such as Neuromarketing, Neurolinguistic and Neuropsychology. It is located at Leontos Sofou Building, 8th floor.
The Applied Neuroscience Lab is equipped with three electroencephalogram (EEG) headsets (EMOTIV Insight 2.0) to record electrical brain (electrical) activity while people conduct different activities (e.g, resolving a problem, decision-making about products, etc) or are exposed to different stimuli or situation (e.g., brands, products, faces etc).
The lab is also equipped with one of best Eye tracking systems in the field (Tobii Pro Spark), which allows to record different measures of eye movement strategies of people watching visual stimuli, videos, reading text or conducting different tasks in the computer.
