Dr Pavlos Kolias

Pavlos Kolias holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he also completed a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Statistics and Modelling (with Distinction, 1^st in class). His doctoral research, supported by scholarships from the A.G. Leventis Foundation and the Department of Mathematics, focused on the theory of high-order non-homogeneous semi-Markov systems. He is currently a Lecturer in Statistics and Research Methods at CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. His teaching and supervision emphasize on quantitative methodologies, statistical modelling, and research designs. Alongside his academic work, he provides advanced statistical consulting across healthcare, behavioural sciences, finance, and technology, with expertise in statistical modelling, simulation methods, machine-learning and data-driven decision support. His research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at major conferences. His work covers stochastic processes, probability theory, and applied statistics, with interdisciplinary applications in Psychology, Sport Science, Health, and Environmental studies. He is an active reviewer for several scientific journals and a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
