Professor Constantinos Alexiou is Professor of Applied Macroeconomics and Policy at University of York Europe Campus.  Prior to joining University of York, he held academic posts at various universities in the UK and Greece, including Cranfield University, UCL, Queen Mary College-University of London and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at universities in Germany (GISMA), the Netherlands (Tilburg University, Maastricht University), France (Grenoble School de Management), Oman (University of Muscat), IRAQ (University of Kurdistan Hewler), Kuwait (Maastricht University – Middle East Campus), Switzerland (Grenoble School de Management – Swiss Campus) and China (Changchun University). His research focuses on Applied Macroeconomics, Macroeconomic Policy, International Finance, Patent Systems, and Heterodox Economics . He has authored over 100 publications in leading academic journals including the Journal of World Business, International Business Review, Contributions to Political Economy, Journal of Post Keynesian, Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, International Journal of Finance and Economics etc. In 2014, he co-developed an internationally acclaimed Index on Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement, providing risk assessments across 49 countries. Professor Alexiou is the founding editor of the International Journal of Economics and a member of the European economic forum for alternative economic policy in the EU . He delivers economics related courses across the graduate, postgraduate and executive management programmes and has supervised to completion 16 doctorate students.
