Robotics Competition by the Computer Science Department

On Friday, 17^th May 2013 a Robotics Competition took place in the frame of the unit ‘Agents and Robotics’ of the 3^rd level of the BSc in Computer Science programme. The competition was organised under the supervision of Dr. Kostas Dimopoulos , Lecturer at our Computer Science Department .

During the 1-day competition that lasted from 10a.m. until 16.00p.m , the students, divided in teams of 4-5, had to design, build and program a small robot to compete in a "football"-type game. Each team used a lego mindstorms robot, and built their version of a ball collector that would throw the balls of its team’s colour to the side of the opposing team. The winning team was Mr Skafas, Mr Kalogeras, Mr Sidiropoulos, Ms Zisopoulou and Ms Kouri with their robot named "Ringo".

The competition was a lot of fun for all participating students who had the opportunity to engage in productive team work and learn a lot about the fascinating world of robots.
