Οff-campus students: using the Library
Studying away from the campus?
The Library can support your learning with our online resources and research services.

This guide is designed for all students you have chosen to study off-campus, with the goal of supporting them and offering advice on how to make the best of what the Library has to offer.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Finding Information
Begin your research at the Library website for access to millions of books and thousands of journals, databases, and other materials.
Online Resources
Online Library Catalogue
OpenABEKT contains records of material held by the library, such as books, periodicals, dissertations and audio-visual material. Use the simple or advanced option to narrow your search on specific titles or authors, or conduct a broader subject search.
Fulltext Resources
Visit the Access to e-resources webpage to find help with resources and guidance on what to do in case items are not available in fulltext while searching. Our resources include a variety of full-text journals, conference proceedings, newspapers, statistics, standards, and other reference resources, and all from the convenience of your own device.
York Library Resources
Log in as a University Member and search the University of York Library Resources to find scholarly and scientific articles and link to a variety of databases.
Connecting from off-campus
As a CITY College, University of York Europe Campus student, you will need to maintain a number of accounts to be able to access remotely resources and services:
- Your CITY College account, ending at @york.citycollege.eu, which will be your official channel of communication with your Department, your local Library and Services, as well as your access key to Google Class and Intranet.
- Your University of York IT account, which will give you access to York University electronic resources.
- Your TurnItIn account, which will give you access to the plagiarism prevention software, in which you should submit your coursework.
Therefore you need to note down and remember your accounts and their accompanied passwords.
Research Help
- Discover books, journals and other resources for your subject by visiting the Subject Guide webpages.
- Use the Skills Guides, the Referencing Styles Guides and the Academic Writing guides for specific help on how to become a good academic searcher and writer, skills necessary for your coursework and dissertation.
Requesting Materials
- Connect Google Scholar to your York IT credentials to enable more full-text discovery.
- Use our Interlibrary Request service (IRL) to request books, articles, book chapters, and more that are not available in our library databases. Our staff will search for you across our national and international lending network to locate the material you need.
