Middle Ground Workshop by University of York students at CITY College
In early March we were delighted to host Phoebe Durojaiye and Tiffany Agbobu, both students from the University of York, who successfully conducted a very insightful Middle Ground Workshop at our main campus in Thessaloniki. During this workshop, our students engaged in thought-provoking discussions and had the opportunity to exchange their perspectives on a variety of subjects, such as cultural diversity, inclusion, and numerous other related themes. This engaging event fostered an environment of open-mindedness and intellectual growth among our participants. This was the second consecutive year that Phoebe and Tiffany had the opportunity to impart their knowledge and facilitate workshops for our students.

Our Psychology students explored the illusionary world at Thessaloniki's Museum of Illusions
Our first year Psychology students had the opportunity to explore the illusionary world during their visit to the Museum of Illusions in Thessaloniki with PhD Candidate and part-time lecturer Nena Evgeniadou. A great opportunity to enter the fascinating world of optical illusions, deepen their understanding of working and visual perception, as well as the crucial role of the brain in visual perception, which is taught in the Sensation & Perception module.

An exciting visit to the University of York by CITY College Students' Union (CSU) representatives
Representatives from our Students’ Union (CSU), including, President Etnik Ballata and Sports Officer Gianni Bello, along with Director of Student Services and Alumni Ms. Theofano Kyriakou, had the opportunity to visit the University of York in early March 2024. The primary objective of this visit was to establish stronger ties and facilitate crucial meetings with YUSU (York University Student Union) and other influential members within the university community. CSU (CITY College Student Union) and YUSU (York University Student Union) representatives visit the Vice-Chancellor During their visit, the delegates from CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, engaged in fruitful discussions with officers from the British university namely Professor Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Tracy Lightfoot, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Teaching, Learning and Students and Professor Steve King, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning and Students) who were pleased to discuss a range of academic topics and student-related matters. The itinerary included insightful visits with Ben Vulliamy, Chief Executive of YUSU to York Vision, University Radio York and York Student Television, where CITY College delegates received comprehensive tours of the student media facilities. The significance of student media in shaping student life was emphasised throughout these visits. Furthermore, the delegation visited the Computer Science Department, various student venues both on the West and the East Campus, sports teams and York Sports Centre, societies, and Heslington Hall. They interacted with students, elected officers, and university staff, fostering a deeper understanding of the University of York's vibrant community. City tour with YUSU (York University Student Union) On the final day, the CSU representatives had a meeting with the Director of the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni, Ms Mary Howarth and Rachel Collins, Alumni Experience Manager in Learning. CITY College delegates with Ben Vulliamy With great enthusiasm our representatives returned back to Greece with many promising plans for the growing friendships and strategic partnerships that our university staff and students are forging. These connections serve to uphold and strengthen the bond between the institutions, providing access to a broader range of opportunities and enriching the learning experiences of both student bodies.

A successful Neuromarketing event by our Business Administration and Economics Department
A highly informative Neuromarketing event was organized by the Business Administration & Economics Department of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus on 5th March 2024, held at our main campus in Thessaloniki. This event showcased how businesses worldwide utilise neuroscience for enhanced research and strategic development. Through practical examples from various industries and countries, the speakers emphasised the advantages of employing new scientific approaches to decipher and influence human behavior. Distinguished speakers shared their knowledge and expertise on the topic during the event. These included Dr. Gaia Rancati, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Neuromarketing, Department of Marketing, Jones A. College of Business and Visiting Assistant Professor, IULM University, Dr. Nikolaos Dimitriadis, Programme Lead of MSc in Neuromarketing at CITY College, Head of Neuro Consulting Optimal HR Group, Prof. Alexandros Psychogios, Professor of HRM & OB, Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University, Dr. Kiki Koutmeridou, Chief Behavioural Scientist at DonorVoice and Lecturer at our Business Department and Dr. Elina Ketikidi, Lecturer, at our Business Department and Leading our Applied Neuroscience Lab. The event took place in the context of our MSc in Neuromarketing programme and concluded with an opportunity for attendees to visit CITY College's Applied Neuroscience Lab, allowing them to further explore the fascinating world of neuromarketing and its applications. Free Memory Test Day by CITY College, Alzheimer Hellas and YMCA
The following event will take place in Thessaloniki, in Greek Τετάρτη, 20 Μαρτίου 2024 9:00-14:00 | Ιστορικό κτήριο Χ.Α.Ν.Θ. | Θεσσαλονίκη Το CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, η Ελληνική Εταιρεία Νόσου Alzheimer και Συγγενών Διαταραχών (Alzheimer Ελλάς) και η Χ.Α.Ν.Θ. διοργανώνουν Ημέρα Δωρεάν Εξέτασης Μνήμης με αφορμή την Ημέρα Περιθάλποντα Ατόμων με Άνοια, που έχει οριστεί τα τελευταία χρόνια η 17η Μαρτίου. Ποιος μπορεί να συμμετέχει Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι (άνω των 55 ετών) θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να κάνουν δωρεάν προληπτικό έλεγχο μνήμης με τη χρήση κατάλληλων ειδικών τεστ. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα ενημερώνονται επιτόπου σχετικά με την αξιολόγηση του τεστ και θα τους δίνονται οι αντίστοιχες οδηγίες. Δεν απαιτείται η κράτηση θέσης.
