Turning Sustainability into Strategy: VIPA Guest Lecture Inspires Business Students
Our business students had the opportunity to engage with Theodoros Panagiotopoulos, People Operations Manager, and Dimitra Karathanasi, HR Business Partner at VIPA Greece, in two inspiring sessions held on 4 and 6 November 2025 across our Thessaloniki Campus. Through “From Waste to Worth: How VIPA Turns Sustainability into Strategy”, students explored how strategic management, leadership, and ethical governance can transform sustainability into long-term business success. The discussions illustrated how VIPA applies the core management functions, showcasing innovation, diversity, and ethics as engines of competitiveness. These events exemplified the bridge between classroom learning and real-world management practice, under the Principles of Management module led by Dr Giovanni Oscar Serafini. A warm thank you to our speakers and to our students for their engagement and thoughtful questions throughout both sessions!

Psychology students raise mental health awareness at the season’s opening game: PAOK BC hosts MENTBEST
In a packed atmosphere full of emotion, PAOK BC hosted MENTBEST on 11/10/2025 at home for the first game of the season, as part of the Public Campaign under the central slogan “We Bloom Together Without Depression.” To celebrate the World day on Mental health, PAOK BC collaborated with the European project MENTBEST, which implements for the first time in Thessaloniki a community-based intervention for the prevention and treatment of depression and suicide as well as the promotion of mental health among the general population. The person responsible for the MENTBEST project in Greece is Professor Ana B. Vivas from the South-East European Research Centre (SEERC), and the Communication Ambassador of the programme is Mr. Bane Prelevic. It is a great honor for MENTBEST to cooperate with PAOK BC, and this collaboration plays a crucial role in the activities of the programme's Public Campaign. By combining the influence of sports with the significance of mental health, the event provided a positive role model for promoting mental health among youth, vulnerable groups, and families. The Greek MENTBEST team was present, distributed educational leaflets on mental health, and celebrated World Mental Health Day together with PAOK BC. We would like to specially thank our CITY Students volunteers, Katerian Petrovic, Anastasia Nasiopoulou, Lea Krdzalic, and Mina Markovic for their important help in distributing informative flyers during the event! Mr. Bane Prelevic, Communication Ambassador of the MENTBEST programme
