Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis at the Balkan Forum 2022 in Thessaloniki
Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, our Vice President for Research & Innovation, together with other distinguished speakers, joined the session ‘Digital Transformation, convergences and networking in the Balkans of scientific bodies’ of the Balkan Forum 2022 and shared his views on the topic. Speakers of the session agreed that the scientific community plays a key role in the digital transformation process.

Induction Week 2022 – A great start for the new academic year
Welcoming our students to our main campus in Thessaloniki during Induction Week 2022 A warm welcome by Professor Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of York [video message] Academic year 2022-23 traditionally kicked off with the Induction Week, a week full of interesting sessions designed to help our students settle-in and prepare themselves for the academic year ahead. All new and returning students of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus were warmly welcomed by the academic staff and personnel. The Induction Week took place at our main campus in Thessaloniki, 3-7 October 2022. As always the Induction Week included workshops, team building activities (treasure hunt game and more), welcome sessions, meetings with personal tutors and information sessions so as to give the students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new academic environment, meet academic and administration staff as well as classmates, and help them discover the facilities, the Library (ILC) and all the academic and professional opportunities which are available to them. Professor Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of York sent a warm welcome message to our students with a video message. Wishing a successful academic year to all our students!

Executive MBA Annual Study Trip 2022 in Strasbourg: an exciting learning experience
Managers and professionals, attending our Pan-European Executive MBA delivered in 8 countries across the region participated in joint classes, networking and activities at the University of Strasbourg in France! The Study Trip is part of the Pan-European Executive MBA programme, a dual degree programme leading to two degrees: one from the University of York and one from the University of Strasbourg. A week at the University of Strasbourg full of joint classes, networking and social activities. Joint classes taught by academics from the University of Strasbourg Our MBA students attending the Pan-European Executive MBA programme had the opportunity to enjoy an exciting Study Trip at the University of Strasbourg in France. The trip is an integral part of the Pan-European Executive MBA programme, a dual degree programme leading to two degrees, one from the University of York and one from the University of Strasbourg. Managers and business professionals from all eight cities where the programme is delivered (Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia, Kyiv, Yerevan, Tbilisi and Baku) participated in the trip to attend joint classes. As always, the study trip comprised classes taught by academics from the University of Strasbourg, seminars, lots of networking, free time and exciting outings. A warm welcome at the University of Strasbourg Dr. Claude Guittard, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Strasbourg warmly welcomed our MBA students at the university. During the study trip MBA students attended the module ‘Open Collaboration Tools for European Business and Sustainability Society’ led by Dr Thierry Burger-Helmchen, Deputy Vice-President for Learning and Teaching at the University of Strasbourg and run by a team of 5 lecturers from the University of Strasbourg. The module included a computer simulation exercise besides a live case study. Visit at the European Parliament Company Visit at a leading manufacturer of office furniture In the context of the Study Trip, students also had the opportunity to visit the European Parliament and directly experience the work of European Parliament, its role, functions and purpose. Additionally, a company visit took place at ‘Steelcase’, a leading manufacturer of office furniture. MBA students were given a site tour at the company’s facilities where they attended a very interesting workshop. Students of the Pan-European Executive MBA at the European Parliament Company visit at Steelcase Escorted by Mr. George Efstathiadis, Director of The Executive Development Institute (EDI) of CITY College and Prof. Leslie Szamosi, Director of the Executive MBA, student participants enjoyed their time at Strasbourg and had the opportunity to network with peers from different countries, industries and cultures and share experiences and best practices. MBA students made the most out of the MBA Study Week and enjoyed their stay in Strasbourg! The Annual Study Week in Thessaloniki is designed as one of the programme’s key attributes during which MBA participants network, learn and have am enjoyable time. Investor event | Share IT 2grow Technology Forum: a successful event co-organised by CITY College Europe Campus
Investor event | Share IT 2grow Technology Forum was co-organised by CITY College, University of York Europe Campus and took place with great success in Thessaloniki, on the 30th of September 2022. Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, our Vice President for Research and Innovation and Dr Simos Veloudis, Senior Researcher, at our research centre, SEERC and Associate Professor at our Computer Science Department moderated two interesting panel discussions that took place in the context of the event. Distinguished speakers participated in both panels and shared their insights and expertise with the audience. The event took place in the context of the Technology Forum 2022. CITY College, University of York Europe Campus proudly supported Technology Forum 2022, a major technology event that took place in Thessaloniki.

Dr Cruz invited as judge in prestigious global online marketing competition, GOMAC 2022
Dr Ana Cruz Congratulations to Dr Ana Cruz on being invited as one of the judges of the Global Online Marketing Academic Challenge (GOMAC 2022). GOMAC is a worldwide competition open to any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course at a higher education institution. Student teams, in conjunction with an industry client, compete to create, run, optimize and report on digital marketing campaigns that include Google Ads and any other digital advertising platform/channel. The results of the challenge have been announced. Dr. Ana Cruz is an Assistant Professor at the Business Administration & Economics Department of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. She teaches marketing and digital marketing and specializes on what makes content go viral. Dr Cruz commented: “Congrats to the winners, to participants, to the supervisors and to the organizing committee. It was an honor to be one of the judges. Truly impressed and humbled by the high level of the entries. Entries for GOMAC 2023 are open now. This is an excellent teaching and learning opportunity to learn digital marketing hands-on. For academics it is a great opportunity to enhance your students' experience.”

Prof. Ketikidis participates as speaker in the Balkan Forum in Thessaloniki
Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, Vice President for Research & Innovation at CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, will participate as invited speaker in the Balkan Forum in Thessaloniki, taking place on Wednsesday, 5 October 2022. Themed “Digital transformation, networking, collaborations and convergences in the Balkans” the forum's scope it to capture the existing level of the technological ecosystem in the Balkans with the aim of developing networks and collaborations to improve it, leading to a new digital era.
