Open MBA Seminar on Holacracy in Bucharest by Mr. Kehaghias
Mr. Stelios Kehaghias successfully delivered an Open MBA Seminar on Holacracy in Bucharest. The event took place 30 May 2019 at the Hilton Hotel. "Holacracy - Reinventing the way we manage" was the title of the seminar led by Mr. Kehaghias, Director of Training & Development / Industrial Liaison of Executive Development Institute (EDI) at CITY College International Faculty. The speaker argued that at times when changes are manifesting at exponential rates it is a paradox that management has not significantly changed in the past decades. “Companies are positioned very often in hypercompetitive markets that resemble red oceans and strive to develop competitive advantage through marketing and operational innovation. This competitive advantage is often short-lived and not sustainable. Management innovation introduces a new approach to managing that is very divergent from our existing management approaches,” said Mr Kehaghias. Mr. Kehaghias underpinned the importance of employee empowerment to a level that is unprecedented and involves radical decentralisation. This approach to management innovation results to lower costs, greater initiative, and higher employee loyalty. When compared to other types of innovation it contributes significantly to the development of sustainable competitive advantage. Managers and business professionals who participated in the seminar had the opportunity to develop an understanding of what management innovation is, how it works and what are the issues faced by companies that are implementing it. The seminar took place in the context of the Executive MBA programme successfully delivered in Bucharest by CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield for 13 years now.
