MBA Students of Healthcare Track Visit ‘Arogi’ Rehabilitation Centre in Thessaloniki
During the Annual Study Week 2015 in Thessaloniki our MBA students following the healthcare track of the Executive MBA programme visited ‘Arogi’ rehabilitation centre as part of the unit ‘Healthcare Systems Policy and Economics’. Escorted by lecturers Dr Janet Harris and Dr Andrew Lee and the Director of the MBA programme, Mr George Efstathiadis, the students visited the premises of Arogi and met the CEO, the Scientific Manager as well as the Marketing Director of the center who discussed the business model, the industry and operations and challenges that they face. Our students found this visit particularly informative and had the opportunity to get inside information and the pulse of the healthcare industry in Greece.

Healthcare Seminar at the Ministry of Health in Kosovo by Dr Harris
Dr Janet Harris, from the University of Sheffield, UK delivered an insightful seminar on ‘Healthcare Management’ at the Ministry of Health in Prishtina, Kosovo. The event took place successfully on Friday, 17 April 2015. The seminar was well-attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health, hospitals and academics from Medical Faculty in Prishtina. Dr Harris is an expert in healthcare management and works at the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) of The University of Sheffield. She is also the Director of the MSc in International Health Management and Leadership and module leader of 'Current Issues in Healthcare' module which is delivered in the frame of the MBA Healthcare track of our Executive MBA programme.

Executive MBA alumna receives 'Best Businesswoman in Belgrade' Award
Congratulations to our MBA alumna, Ms Sanja Milakovic Kolundzija, Principal of the PR agency 'Executive Group', who was honored with the distinguished award 'Kapetan Misa Anastasijevic', recognising her as the 'Best Businesswoman' in Belgrade. This renowned award is offered to leading contributors of business and society for 14 years now, and is presented by the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. The event was organised by the Media Invent agency. Misa Anastasijevic, a great 19th century Serbian businessman and benefactor - often called the Serbian Rothschild - was the owner of Serbia’s first multinational company and one of the wealthiest people in Europe at the time.

Human Resource Management: a new specialisation in our Executive MBA programme
Responding to today’s demand for well-educated HR professionals and managers able to effectively manage the human capital in order to achieve maximum performance, our Executive MBA recently launched a new specialisation: the MBA in Human Resource Management (HRM). While maintaining all the advantages and features of our MBA programme, the HRM specialisation also provides students the opportunity to gain deeper understanding of this increasingly important field of management, through a curriculum enriched with contemporary HR-related theory and practice. The MBA with specialisation in Human Resource Management is an internationally recognised qualification and has been designed to develop an up-to-date understanding of current thinking in the business field and in the HRM discipline specifically. As such, it provides a unique forum for analysing and communicating the latest thinking in both professional practice and in the academic arena. The new specialisation has been designed for those currently working in junior or senior HR positions as well as those interested in pursuing a HR career. The new HRM specialisation is the sixth specialisation available in our Executive MBA programme – in addition to Marketing, General Management, Logistics, Finance and Healthcare Management – and will start running in the academic year 2015-16 in all cities where the programme is currently offered (i.e. Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Kyiv and Sofia). Our Executive MBA launches the ‘Career Coaching Programme’
Mr Nikos Lambridis, Senior Leadership Coach “People do better when they’re part of something larger than themselves” Taking career coaching in our Executive MBA programme a step further, the International Faculty launched the ‘Career Coaching Programme’. Aiming at addressing our executive students’ career challenges and expectations, the programme is already being offered to all MBA students in all five cities (Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Kyiv and Sofia) where the EMBA runs. The Career Coaching programme has been carefully designed and its main goal is to inspire and support students to maximise their professional potential by coaching effectively their workforce. MBA participants enter the programme by taking Gallup's StrengthsFinder assessment test, an international test that has helped millions of leaders discover their strengths and become more productive. As business coaching has become fundamental, the programme aspires to train our students help their team members experience progress at work in a meaningful way. Through this coaching programme, our students will be taught how to motivate people, build relationships manage conflict delegate tasks properly and become effective team leaders. The Career Coaching Programme is led by Mr. Nikos Lambridis, Senior Leadership Coach with significant experience in career coaching and professional development, and also a BAED Adjunct Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Leadership module of our MBA programme. Mr. Lambridis has worked in the past with big companies like Coca Cola, Vodafone, Pepsico Cosmote, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and many others. Mr. Lambridis says "Coaching will give MBA participants the mental tools needed to perform at their peak potential, if they want to achieve career success at the next level: Performance confidence, Positive self-talk habits, Visualization, Centering techniques, Self awareness." 'Meet the CEO' lecture for our MBA students in Belgrade
Mr. Vojislav Lazarević, Executive Board Member at Vojvodjanska Bank - National Bank of Greece Mr. Vojislav Lazarević, Executive Board Member at Vojvodjanska Bank - National Bank of Greece, delivered an insightful lecture on ‘Macroeconomics in Decision Making Process’ to our first year MBA students in Belgrade. The lecture took place in the frame of the Business Economics unit at the Conference Hall of Falkensteiner Hotel in Belgrade, 23 January 2015. In his presentation Mr. Lazarević discussed the factors of decision making process and the impact of macroeconomics in business. Mr. Vojislav Lazarević was appointed as Member of the Executive Board of Vojvodjanska Banka in July 2009 and was put in charge for Treasury, Brokerage and Advisory, Corporate Banking and Marketing and Communications. Prior to that Mr. Lazarević worked at the National Bank of Greece as Assistant General, maintaining relationships with important corporate clients, and as Assistant Branch Manager. Also he has worked as Foreign Exchange Dealer at the Societe Generale Bank in Athens. The ‘Meet the CEO’ lecture series has been established by our Executive MBA programme to allow students to get a glimpse into the minds of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders and encounter their ideas and insights about business.

Executive MBA Induction Days 2014
Thessaloniki – Bucharest – Belgrade – Kyiv MBA Induction Days marked the beginning of academic year 2014-15 for our Executive MBA programme in all four countries where it currently runs. During Induction Days students in all countries had the opportunity to meet their classmates and some of their professors. The induction days have been designed to provide a gateway to the MBA programme and prepare students for their studies. In all countries Induction Days were followed by the first weekend classes for this academic year. Thessaloniki In Thessaloniki the MBA Induction took place on 30-31 of October for Cohort 22. The Director of the programme, Mr George Efstathiadis enthusiastically welcomed the students and wished them a successful academic year. Dr Megaklis Petmezas, Vice Principal of the International Faculty, Dr Dimitrios Nikolaidis, Head of the Business Administration & Economics Department, Mr Stelios Kehaghias, Senior Lecturer, Mr Chris Liassides, Director of the Postgraduate Programmes at BAED also participated in the induction. Belgrade In Belgrade the Induction took place on the 25th of October at Hotel Falkensteiner in Belgrade. Students were welcomed by Dr Leslie Szamosi, Academic Director of the MBA programme and Dr Nikolalos Dimitriadis, the Development Director of EDI and also Director of the International Faculty’s representative office in Belgrade. "My MBA experience" presentation was delivered by Mr Miroslav Grbovic, Customer Centricity Program Manager at Telenor Srbija, who spoke to new MBA students about his study years at the Executive MBA and the valuable knowledge gained. Students enjoyed induction and are looking forward to experiencing the MBA programme. Bucharest Induction days for our Executive MBA in Romania took place on 13-14 of November at the Hilton Hotel in Bucharest. Dr Megaklis Petmezas, Vice Principal of the International Faculty, Dr Leslie Szamosi, Academic Director of the programme, Mr Nikos Lambridis, Executive MBA Student Coach and Organizational Behaviour unit leader and Dr Alexandros Psychogios, Senior Lecturer, welcomed the students and provided useful information about the programme. Also our alumnus, Cristina Viisoreanu, who graduated with distinction, shared with the newcomers her EMBA experience. Like previous years, middle and top management managers and professionals from different industry sectors, primarily from Romania, Moldavia but other countries too are attending the programme. Kyiv In Kyiv the MBA Induction took place at the House of Pashkov on 20 November. Dr Leslie Szamosi and Dr Nikos Dimitriadis opened the programme and welcomed all students. Also, Ms Maryna Saprykina, student currently working on her dissertation, who is Director of Center for CSR Development, presented her personal experience of study in the program and gave valuable advice on how to manage time efficiently within this rigorous programme and follow all academic requirements and rules. Middle and top managers of international corporations and organizations operating in Ukraine, Belarus and other countries, joined the programme in order to obtain to get the internationally recognised MBA degree of the University of Sheffield and explore the benefits of international exposure and networking for further career development in Europe.

MBA lecturer, Mr. Ioannis Kantartzis, participates in London Money Show
Mr. Ioannis Kantartzis, Lecturer at our Executive MBA programme and editor-in-chief and publisher of TRADERS' magazine for the English, Spanish and Greek language, was invited to participate in London World Money Show, that took place in London, 7-8 November 2014. At the event Mr. Kantartzis acted as moderator of a panel of four distinguished traders from all over the world who discussed the topic "Mechanical trading v cross-market analysis - two different approaches, one common goal". The panel was well-attended and was promoted by the Money Show via a recorded session. Mr. Kantartzis has been teaching relevant issues on trading, derivatives and portfolio management at our Executive MBA programme since 2002. He has also been acting as module leader since 2004 of the International Financial Management EXEC MBA course. Mr Giovanni Serafini at the annual MHRA Conference in Skopje
On the 3rd of October, the 6th MHRA Annual Conference was held in Skopje. The conference's topic was “HR Standards & Best Practices” and once again it attracted the interest of many HR professionals and specialists. Mr Giovanni Serafini, lecturer at the International Faculty addressed the impact of HR practices on organizational success. Furthermore, in the frame of the conference Mr Serafini gave an interview which was published in "Sloboden Pecat".
