Open Seminar on Neuro-Coaching techniques by Mr. Lambridis in Bucharest
Mr. Nikos Lambridis, Head Coach of the Executive MBA programme of the International Faculty CITY College, delivered a very successful open seminar on neuro-coaching techniques in Bucharest. The event took place on 3 November 2016 at the Hilton Hotel and was well-attended by managers and business professionals eager to learn how to improve their managerial skills and overall performance. Entitled ‘Neuro-Coaching techniques to help senior leaders to make quality decisions and control their emotions’ the seminar aimed at helping leaders adapt to change in today’s fast-paced, rapidly shifting world, and review their formula of success in order not to miss opportunities for innovation and growth. During the seminar Mr Lambridis discussed what holds people back, by sharpening their self-awareness, focusing on the here-and-now, and finally understanding the value of “holding back” their emotions. During the seminar participants took part in two exercises: ‘Self-awareness in everyday life’ and ‘Control our emotions using NeuroCoaching techniques’ which they found particularly interesting and engaging. Participants were left with best impressions and found the seminar extremely useful and innovative.

Official launch of The University of Sheffield Executive MBA programme in Yerevan
The official launch of the Executive MBA in Yerevan was organised by the University of Sheffield International Faculty and took place with great success with a launching event on Thursday, 13th October 2016 at the Marriott Hotel. Mr. Yannis Ververidis, Principal of the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College opened the event and warmly welcomed all guests. Minister of Education and Science, Mr Levon Mkrtchyan, and the British and Greek Ambassadors to Armenia, Ms Judith Margaret Farnworth and Ms Nafsika Nancy Eva Vraila, honoured the event with their presence and addressed a short welcome. Mr George Efstathiadis and Dr Leslie Szamosi, Academic Director of the Executive MBA programme also represented the International Faculty at the event. The event was well-attended by officials and representatives of the civil and business society. Welcome speeches were followed by the signing of a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ between Mr Ververidis and Mr Mkrchyan. The event concluded with a short reception. Official Executive MBA launch in Yerevan on 'Public TV of Armenia' The University of Sheffield Executive MBA has already started running in Yerevan adding Armenia as its sixth destination in addition to Thessaloniki (Greece), Belgrade (Serbia), Bucharest (Romania), Kyiv (Ukraine) and Sofia(Bulgaria). The International Faculty aspires for this development to prove to be a very important contribution for the executive education in the country of Armenia and for the international outlook of the Executive MBA programme.

ΜΒΑ Alumna honoured with Alumni Leadership Award by the University of Sheffield
Ms. Mirela Arqimandriti Executive Director of Gender Alliance for Development Center in Albania Congratulations to our MBA alumna, Ms. Mirela Arqimandriti, Executive Director of Gender Alliance for Development Center in Albania, who was honoured with the ‘Alumni Leadership Award’, at the third annual Alumni Volunteers Thank You Event and Awards that was held at the University of Sheffield, UK on 6 October 2016. This award came as recognition of the dedication that Ms. Arqimandriti (MBA 2004) showed sharing the values of the University of Sheffield and for her initiatives and efforts promoting the University and the International Faculty in her home country, Albania. Her leadership skills, her personal, professional and other voluntary commitments brought to Ms. Arqimandriti this award. The Alumni Leadership Award was collected by Chris Furness on Mirela’s behalf. The event’s panel noted: “Mirela has done highly impressive work in Albania that has spread awareness of the University of Sheffield. Mirela has shown long standing dedication in supporting CITY College and the University of Sheffield in Albania which is truly outstanding. Through single actions, Mirela has enhanced the reputation of all institutions in this emerging area, exemplifying the University’s ethos as a truly international institution.” The Alumni Volunteer Awards are presented at the annual Thank You Event, and serve to recognise and thank outstanding alumni volunteers of the University of Sheffield. Mirela was one of the four alumni in total who were awarded with a ‘Sheffield Alumni Volunteer Award’ in this year’s Thank you event. The Alumni Leadership Award was collected by Chris Furness on Mirela’s behalf It is worth noting that Mirela was also honoured by the International Faculty, CITY College and received the Distinguished Graduate Award at the latest Graduation Ceremony of the International Faculty in Thessaloniki in November 2015. Successful AMBA Accreditation Managers Forum in Bucharest by the International Faculty
The International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, CITY College was honoured to host the annual AMBA Accreditation Managers Forum. The event took place on September 26 and 27 in Bucharest and marked the first time this important event was held in South-Eastern Europe. Mr. George Efstathiadis, Executive MBA Program Director of the International Faculty, welcomed all the participants on behalf of the Faculty and the University of Sheffield. The Forum was an outstanding and informative AMBA event, key to all managers and administrators of the accreditation process as well as those new to accreditation and those involved with re-accreditation. AMBA representatives and renowned external speakers discussed the structure and intricacies of the accreditation process, the requirements of a successful accreditation submission, data gathering, report writing, self-auditing, raising the support of academic and senior staff along with many more topics. Dr. Leslie Szamosi, MBA Academic Director of the International Faculty and Prof. Christian Tangkjær of the Copenhagen Business School, both members of the Faculty of Assessors of AMBA, co-presented the session on maximizing the chances of accreditation success. The Forum also offered an excellent platform to network and exchange accreditation tips and good practice with around nearly 50 participants from around 20 countries participating.

The Boris Trajkovski Scholarship Award Ceremony 2016 in Skopje
On 28 September 2016 the twenty (20) Boris Trajkovski scholarship recipients were awarded their MBA scholarship during the Award Ceremony held in Skopje by Dr Gjorgje Ivanov, the President of the country. The scholars will have the opportunity to attend the prestigious University of Sheffield Executive MBA programme run by the International Faculty in Thessaloniki. The awarding ceremony took place the President’s Villa, in Skopje with Mr. Yannis Ververidis, Principal of the International Faculty representing the University of Sheffield International Faculty, as well as Mr. Spiro Ristovski, Deputy Minister of Education and Science. It is the seventh consecutive year for the Boris Trajkovksi Scholarships to be offered and provide the opportunity to scholars to study for the University of Sheffield Executive MBA in Thessaloniki. The Boris Trajkovski EMBA scholarship programme was co-founded by the International Faculty and the country’s Government.

Seminar by Dr Dimitriadis to students to Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University
During his visit in Ukraine, Dr. Dimitriadis, Director of Development at the Executive Development Institute (EDI) of the International Faculty, delivered a very interesting seminar to students of Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. Entitled "The Empathy Revolution: Connect with People and succeed personally and professionally", the seminar addressed the topic of empathy. Dr Nikolaos Dimitriadis discussed the empathy deficit, species evolution and neuroscience in order to prove that deep connectivity is what makes us human. The speaker underpinned that humans need to cultivate empathy as is the key to better personal and professional life. Students found this presentation particularly interesting and generated a discussion with Dr Dimitriadis at the end of the presentation.

Dr Dimitriadis delivers seminars to members of European Business Association (EBA) in Ukraine
Dr Nikolaos Dimitriadis, Director of Development at the Executive Development Institute (EDI) of the International Faculty, delivered two insightful seminar to members of European Business Association (EBA) in Kyiv and Odesa on the 9th and 22nd of September respectively. Both events took place in the frame of the collaboration between the International Faculty, CITY College and EBA. The fist seminar, delivered in Kyiv, was entitled ‘The Empathy Leader: How to Connect with People and Engage them at Work’. In his presentation Dr Dimitriadis discussed the important role of empathy in the contemporary working environment, stressing out that “Relationships are what make a company great, not procedures. Actually, relationships ARE the company.” According to the speaker, empathy within the business environment results in high-performing employees, as they look for, and value, relationships more than tangible benefits. He then described the three types of empathy and explained how they can be implemented at work. Dr Dimitriadis delivered a second seminar to the Southern Ukrainian Office of EBA in Odesa this time. EBA members had the opportunity to attend his presentation on ‘Brain Leadership: How to engage employees through neuroscience’. Dr Dimitriadis discussed myths concerning relation between the brain, leadership and management, explained how leadership really works in the brain as well as presented a comprehensive model for applying brain-based leadership. Both events were well-attended while participants found them very interesting and innovative.

Dr Dimitriadis delivers insightful workshop on Brain Leadership in Lviv, Ukraine
Dr Nikolaos Dimitriadis, Development Director of the Executive Development Institute delivered a successful workshop on Brain Leadership in Lviv, Ukraine. Entitled "Brain Leadership: How to Engage Employees through Neuroscience" the event was organised by the International Faculty, CITY College and the European Business Association (EBA) on 16 June 2016. In his presentation Dr Dimitriadis discussed myths concerning the brain, leadership and management, underpinning that neuroscience techniques can be applied to leadership development and advised participating business professionals on how they can make their brain leadership smarter. He also presented a comprehensive model for applying brain-based leadership. “Today’s managers need to make their brain ‘leadership-smarter’ if they wish to success in the leadership ladder”, said Dr. Dimitriadis. The event was well-attended and intrigued participants to learn more on this new leadership trend.

Our Executive MBA now in Armenia!
Yerevan is the new destination for our Executive MBA programme. We are happy to announce that The University of Sheffield Executive MBA offered by the International Faculty will start running in Armenia from this academic year and on, making Yerevan our sixth teaching location along with Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Kyiv and Sofia. Managers and entrepreneurs from Armenia who will attend the programme will keep the benefit of integration and networking with managers from throughout the region while getting the benefits of convenience and cost. As in other locations, programme participants in Yerevan will be able to choose between the six available specializations within the MBA programme: Marketing, General Management, Finance, Logistics Management, Healthcare Management and Human Resource Management. MBA student in Sofia issues the biggest comic album ever published in Bulgaria
Executive MBA student, Marin Troshanov, who attends the programme in Sofia has been part of a very exciting project: Together with 7 of the finest Bulgarian artists he wrote a comic book script and issued the biggest comic album ever created in Bulgaria. On June 8th the collection named "Above the Rainbow" was presented at a special exhibition held in one of the largest artistic show rooms in Sofia. The event was respected by hundreds of visitors from all ages. Marin opened the exhibition with a short speech on the project's goal - to revive the comic art in Bulgaria. In the next hour and a half he tirelessly signed copies with his colleagues encircled by the broadly smiling faces of the fans. His strip "The Mark" was previously awarded the best traditional comic at the Belgrade International Comics Festival among nearly 300 competitors from 30 countries. Marin Troshanov has recently signed a contract with one of the most reputable Bulgarian publishing houses for a trilogy of novels that could be defined as mystery thrillers with fantasy elements. The first one will be issued this Autumn and follows the story of a missing girl and the supernatural forces her boyfriend needs to face in the quest of finding her. The International Faculty warmly congratulates Mr Marin Troshanov and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours! Marin Troshanov currently holds the position of an Account Delivery Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and is responsible for a large international client in the energy sector. Throughout his career he has been engaged with people management, training, customer relationship building and projects. In 2015 he was selected by Kapital and karieri.bg as one of Bulgaria’s Next Generations Leaders.

Football Tournament Finals at the International Faculty CITY College
The Football Tournament 2016 of the International Faculty, CITY College came to an end with the exciting finals that tool place 31 May 2016 at the at the YMCA football court. Three teams competed against each other; the team that won two matches took the first place while the team that won one game took the second place. The winning team, Cheeky Bastards, won against Eagles 4-1 and 1-0 against Momchencata. Eagles won the second place, since they were defeated by Cheeky Bastards, but won 6-1 against Momchencata. Marko Jovanovski, the new Sports and Recreational Activities Officer for 2016/17 was the acting referee. Overall, 5 teams of a total of 32 students and staff participated in the Students' Union football tournament, during May 24th and 31st. Congratulations to all participants!
