Blood Donation Days: 18 April & 22 May 2024
Register and save a life! Thursday 18 April and Wednesday 22 May 2024 at the General Hospital Ippokrateio Directions for Blood Donors: Giving blood is quick, easy, and risk-free for healthy adults (ages 18-65 approximately) who are in good health, do not take chronic medication and do not suffer from serious ailments or anemia. It is advisable to avoid medication and alcohol and rest adequately on the last day before blood donation. Have a small meal and 2-3 glasses of water or juice before giving blood. Our blood bank is helping people in our community in need. We have to refill our reserves to help even more people! This is only possible through your amazing effort and donations. Thank you! It's the 2024 Students' Union Elections season! Here's your opportunity to influence who will represent your Union and shape its path for the upcoming year. 4 positions are open for nominations. So don't hesitate, step forward, nominate yourself, or suggest worthy candidates, and participate in voting to enact meaningful change. An exciting visit to the University of York by CITY College Students' Union (CSU) representatives
Representatives from our Students’ Union (CSU), including, President Etnik Ballata and Sports Officer Gianni Bello, along with Director of Student Services and Alumni Ms. Theofano Kyriakou, had the opportunity to visit the University of York in early March 2024. The primary objective of this visit was to establish stronger ties and facilitate crucial meetings with YUSU (York University Student Union) and other influential members within the university community. CSU (CITY College Student Union) and YUSU (York University Student Union) representatives visit the Vice-Chancellor During their visit, the delegates from CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, engaged in fruitful discussions with officers from the British university namely Professor Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Tracy Lightfoot, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Teaching, Learning and Students and Professor Steve King, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning and Students) who were pleased to discuss a range of academic topics and student-related matters. The itinerary included insightful visits with Ben Vulliamy, Chief Executive of YUSU to York Vision, University Radio York and York Student Television, where CITY College delegates received comprehensive tours of the student media facilities. The significance of student media in shaping student life was emphasised throughout these visits. Furthermore, the delegation visited the Computer Science Department, various student venues both on the West and the East Campus, sports teams and York Sports Centre, societies, and Heslington Hall. They interacted with students, elected officers, and university staff, fostering a deeper understanding of the University of York's vibrant community. City tour with YUSU (York University Student Union) On the final day, the CSU representatives had a meeting with the Director of the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni, Ms Mary Howarth and Rachel Collins, Alumni Experience Manager in Learning. CITY College delegates with Ben Vulliamy With great enthusiasm our representatives returned back to Greece with many promising plans for the growing friendships and strategic partnerships that our university staff and students are forging. These connections serve to uphold and strengthen the bond between the institutions, providing access to a broader range of opportunities and enriching the learning experiences of both student bodies.
