The Municipality of Vushtrri, Kosovo and CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, in Thessaloniki, Greece are pleased to announce that they are offering 10 scholarships for students from the Municipality of Vushtrri, Kosovo. The scholarships are available for Bachelors, Masters and/or MBA studies. The scholarships are valid for the academic year 2024-25 (Start Date of the programmes: October 2024) until the end of the specific academic programme. Presenting the 'MentBest' project at Thessaloniki City Hall - Promoting our commitment to mental well-being
The MentBest event, held at Thessaloniki City Hall, underscored our collective commitment to mental well-being. Esteemed participants included Deputy Mayor Efi Theodoraki, mental health professionals, social workers, police and church representatives. Dr. Ana Vivas not only presented but also led the event, guiding discussions on advanced mental health solutions. Among these was the spotlight on the 'I Fight Depression' programme, an innovative online tool designed for self-managing mild to moderate depression symptoms. The event, enriched by the coordination of Georgia Papaioannou and Christina Katsoridou, showcased our holistic approach to mental health challenges. This assembly at a key municipal venue demonstrates the multifaceted approach necessary for addressing mental health challenges effectively.

Guest lecture on AI and Google Cloud for our Business students
Students from our Business Administration & Economics Department had the opportunity to attend an informative guest lecture on ‘AI to the Rescue: How Google Cloud can supercharge your digital transformation’ delivered by Elias Papachristos, Google Cloud and Community Management Consultant. During the presentation Mr Papachristos discusses the ways in which Google Cloud revolutionises the digital transformation journey across industries. He also referred to strategies that startups and enterprises follow to seamlessly integrate AI and other transformative technologies into their operations. The guest lecture took place in the context of the ‘Case Studies in Digital Transformation' module led by Dr Elina Ketikidi Gerakis.

A Day with Deloitte Greece
A successful event with remarkable student participation and engagement On 27th of March 2024 more than 50 students from our Business Administration and Economics Department and our Computer Science Department attended a successful event titled ‘A Day with Deloitte Greece’ where they had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into Deloitte's history, values, and mission. The event proved a great opportunity for our students to meet Deloitte representatives - Mr. Stavros Kiriakidis, HR Assistant Manager and Mr. Ioannis Karasavvoglou, HR Consultant - learn more about the diverse range of career paths and roles available within the organisation and the key skills and competencies that Deloitte looks for in candidate employees. Following the presentation our students also had the opportunity to engage in informal discussions (interviews) with Deloitte representatives. The event was organised by the Career, Employability and Enterprise Centre of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus in collaboration with two departments and it received remarkable participation and engagement.

Alumni Reception in Skopje: A celebration of success and connection
A successful alumni reunion with 250 graduates attending Delegates from CITY College rejoined with our graduates, creating a heartwarming atmosphere. Warm smiles and heartfelt reunions filled the Skopje Alumni Reception on the 21st of March, as over 250 alumni gathered to celebrate their shared past at CITY College and create new bonds. A delegation from CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, consisting of Dr. Megaklis Petmezas, Vice-President for New Developments, Marketing, and Recruitment, Dr. Nikos Tsorakidis, Deputy Vice-President for External Engagement and Partnerships, Professor Leslie Szamosi, Director of the Pan-European Executive MBA, Ms. Ioanna Kapnopoulou, Head of Public Engagement and Corporate Services, Mr. George Efstathiadis, Director of the Executive Development Institute (EDI), Dr. Ioanna Stamatopoulou, Head of the Computer Science Department, Ms. Theofano Kyriakou, Director of Student Services and Alumni and Ms Marija Nikovska, Country Manager in Skopje, joined the Alumni reception and celebrated with the graduates the reunion. Also, the Consul General of Greece, Mrs Maria Diagouma, honoured the event with her presence. Dr Petmezas warmly welcomed all alumni and guests expressing his joy at reuniting with our alumni community in Skopje again: "As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we look to the future with optimism and ambition. We aspire to be a leading institution in the region and beyond, ensuring excellence in education, research and innovation. We aim to empower our students to become global citizens and leaders who can meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. We are creating a lasting legacy and impact that will benefit generations to come. To achieve this vision and goal, we need the continued support and partnership of our students and graduates. The event presented our graduates – most of them already thriving in the business world – with the opportunity to reconnect, network, and enjoy a social gathering filled with nostalgia and joy. The reunion proved to be a heartwarming and memorable occasion, as gratuates relived cherished memories from their time at CITY College and discussed how their studies have significantly impacted their professional journeys.
